Which videos are supported?
Single-video-track H.264/HEVC in MP4, MOV or M4V is supported, with MP4/MOV output. This is not an editing suite: ProRes, spatial video, multi-track editing and subtitle editing are not supported.
What happens to HDR and audio?
The HEVC path can retain 10-bit HDR, subject to device support; H.264 converts to SDR. Dolby Vision dynamic metadata is not guaranteed. Only the first audio track is kept.
Is a target size guaranteed?
The output is measured after encoding. Unmet targets are reported; the app does not automatically mute or shorten your video to meet a target. An 8-second sample does not predict the exact full output size.
Why did processing stop in the background?
iOS may interrupt background work. Return to the app to check the task and retry. A failed compression does not delete the original.
How do I remove an original?
Originals are kept by default. Deletion requires removing app protection, a saved copy in Photos, validation and system confirmation. iCloud Photos may sync deletions.
